The Road to Success is pleased to announce it will be holding its second annual radio and telethon.

During the month of March, the Road to Success will be seeking donations to support the Road to Success reading program in Utah elementary schools.  The best investment we can make in our community is to ensure that our children can read.   In Utah, 26% of first graders are not reading on grade level, and Utah ranks last among its peers in 4th and 8th grade math, reading, and science scores.  This is simply not acceptable.  The Road to Success is doing something about this problem and your help is needed.

On March 28,  2012 the crucial fundraising event will take place at the Grand Hall (Union Pacific Depot) at The Gateway, 400 West South Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 from 6am to 7pm.  The day’s efforts will be televised in partnership with Fox 13 and include a live radio broadcast in partnership with Simmons Media Group: X96, Mix 107.9, Rewind 100.7, U92, and 101.5 The Eagle.

Donations will be accepted online beginning March 1, 2012 as well as the Literacy Event on March 28, 2012 via telephone 1-855-CAN-READ (1-855-226-7323) and in person at the Grand Hall (Union Pacific Depot) at The Gateway, 400 West South Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 from 6am to 7pm.

The Road to Success is the driver for improving literacy in over 260 elementary schools and the community. Through this program, children’s proficiency at reading can improve and in turn, change lives.  Donate today, and come join us on the Road to Success!

About the Road to Success Program
The Road to Success is one of the programs of the Success in Education Foundation, a public charity.    It encourages reading at an early age by partnering with sponsors to reward the efforts of elementary students.  With 260 participating schools, and over 165,000 students, we are helping increase literacy in Utah by encouraging students to READ EVERY DAY. Students set reading goals and earn incentives throughout the year. In addition, when they meet their weekly reading goals, they are entered into a drawing to win a brand new bike.  Bikes are awarded every eight weeks, for a total of four bikes per school.
